There is no second take, and no edit afterwards.

Everything that is merely annoying in a recording — losing your place, gabbling to catch up, a long silence while you scroll — happens in front of the audience when you’re live.

You cannot stop

No pausing to find your place. Onwords keeps your current line centred while you talk, so there is nothing to find.

You will go off-script

A question, a comment, a tangent. It holds position rather than guessing, then picks you up when you return to the script.

Nothing can fail

No connection, no service, no sign-in. Speech recognition runs on your own machine, so a wobbly network takes your stream down before it touches your prompter.

Webinars

Hold the structure without reading a wall of text.

Most webinars aren’t read word for word — they’re a written spine with speaking around it. Onwords follows that comfortably: put the parts that must be exact in the script, talk freely around them, and the position stays with you.

  • Numbers, names, disclaimers and calls to action stay word-perfect on screen.
  • Answer a question for a minute, come back, and it catches up within a sentence or two.
  • A live transcript shows what the app is hearing, so nothing about it is mysterious.
  • An orange bar warns you if it can’t hear you at all, instead of leaving you guessing.

Your setup

The prompter on one screen, everything else on the other.

Live means chat, comments, a stream deck, a switcher and a producer in your ear. The prompter needs to be a clean, quiet rectangle that never asks for attention.

  • Full-screen mode on a second display, with the controls left on your laptop.
  • A dark, low-glare interface designed to sit next to a camera.
  • Type size adjustable for distance; mirror mode for beam-splitter glass.
  • Almost no CPU while you read — it is a native Windows app, not a browser in a costume.
